Metrc: Oregon

Metrc is a key part of Oregon’s medical and recreational cannabis programs. The Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) is responsible for enacting recreational cannabis regulations and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) oversees the medical cannabis program in the state.

All recreational cannabis businesses are required to use Metrc to track and report their cannabis production to the state. In order to receive one of the seven types of recreational cannabis licenses available, operators must demonstrate their ability to use Metrc by passing a proficiency test.

Metrc is a software tool used by licensed cannabis businesses to track and report cannabis activity in the regulated market. Metrc creates oversight for government regulatory bodies who are tasked with managing statewide cannabis programs.
